MANAGING DIRECTOR
After studying graphic design at university, Matt followed a passion for product design with a successful career within the interior design publishing sector. He launched ‘On Office’ magazine within the workplace industry and took ‘Icon’ to new levels within the architecture marketplace. With a fresh challenge in mind back in 2009, he moved across to the furniture world to support the A&D community with project specifications, manufacturers ‘Allermuir’ and ‘Vitra’ are where he fine-tuned his passion for furniture. Since launching Umbrella in 2015 Matt has delivered multiple award winning schemes with some of London’s top architectural practices. Working across varied client demographics ranging from finance, law, tech, media and hospitality. Matt and the Umbrella team are ready to take your brief and support you in delivering an inspirational workplace.
SALES DIRECTOR
After relocating to London from Edinburgh in 2005 to work in the financial recruitment sector for over 10 years, Jamie has worked in the furniture dealer space in London supporting a range of blue-chip clients and some of the UK’s most successful architectural and design practices. Jamie’s experience includes several large-scale projects for leading financial institutions, high-growth tech companies and some of the UK’s most successful co-working brands. As a result, Jamie regularly supports briefs with a high volume of manufacturers as well as a significant amount of bespoke and refurbished product. Working closely with a number of high-profile global businesses to achieve targets in sustainability, he is well versed in environmental standards and sustainable procurement. With a passion for design, Jamie stays ahead of trends and is enthusiastic about bringing new brands to our customers attention.
SENIOR FURNITURE CONSULTANT
Born in High Wycombe, a famous chair making town, Ryan entered the furniture industry over 10 years ago. In his first business development role, offering finance for furniture and fit-out projects, he experienced an insight into the furniture world and has never turned back. Joining a dealer, he gained valuable experience specifying, planning, and delivering complex furniture packages across various industries, winning projects with many globally recognised brands and in various countries!
With extensive furniture knowledge, a keen eye for design, consideration, and passion for sustainable manufacturing, we welcome Ryan to Umbrella Furniture.
FURNITURE CONSULTANT
Jack joined Umbrella in 2023, with a background in UX Design and hospitality management. While new to furniture, he is eager to learn more about this industry by immersing himself fully in the furniture industry. His knowledge of design principles in different disciplines offer a new, diverse perspective that will help the team exceed expectations in all aspects of a project. Working in a fast-paced environment is something that comes naturally to Jack, and being part of a team is something he has always loved. The passion he has for customer service will be essential in client-facing environments where relationship management is as important as any other aspect of the project process. Jack is excited to learn from the wealth of industry experience within the Umbrella team, and to grow into an asset that can contribute to the success of the company for years to come.
FURNITURE CONSULTANT
Toby joined the business at 17, enrolling in an apprenticeship scheme whilst working in the business development department. After 3 years in that area of the business, and starting to understand more about the back end of project management he then moved over to the sales team in 2018 supporting the team with projects from small offices to multi-million-pound schemes. Since then he has built up a range of clients as well as continued to support the business with large projects and tenders.
Toby’s knowledge of the furniture market and attention to detail from a finishes perspective brings valuable support to the Umbrella projects offering whilst detailing our large furniture schemes.
SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Talented and enthusiastic Interior Designer, with a wealth of experience in high-end interior design projects for the top brands as well as working alongside a diverse array of companies such as MACE, University of Kent, Kings’ College, University of London, Rambert School, 717a Kier Construction, University of Wales – Trinity St David to name a few.
With 3 years of experience in the furniture industry and a BA (Hons) degree in Architecture, Karol has valuable heritage in working on drawing packages with strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, pCon and V-ray rendering software, which along with her strong design, commercial awareness and communication skills, gives her a comprehensive understanding of the design process from concept to completion.
Karol’s wealth of experience in the visual accepts of the project producing 2D space plans, 3D visuals, animations and mood/sample boards is second to none. Her architectural background gives her the skills to attend site meeting and produce a site analysis. Also attend site installations and help supervise contractors, pitch design solutions to clients also falls into her responsibilities.
