Join us at Clerkenwell Design Week to discover some of the latest designs and brands that are leading the way in Circular Design and the art of the possible when it comes to redefining existing furniture.
Along with several exclusive product launches by British furniture brands, insightful panel discussions and interactive installations, the Umbrella and Wagstaff showroom is a must visit location on the Clerkenwell trail in 2024.
This year, Umbrella +Friends will present the latest product launches presented by: Edsbyn, FDB Møbler, Isomi, Jay & Co., Jott Studio, Normann Copenhagen, OnOffice magazine, Square Bear, Swatchbox, Swedese, Ton, True Design, Waste to Wonder, Works magazine, alongside architectural film partner T6.

Circular Upholstery Restoration – Live Demonstrations by Jay & Co.
Twice daily at 11.00 am and 3.00 pm
Modern restoration company Jay & Co, founded by TV Presenter Jay Blades of The Repair Shop, will host a series of live re-upholstery demonstrations sharing key aspects of recycling, reclaiming and reusing materials to create pieces as good as new. No booking required.

Tuesday 21st May
Panel Talk: Journey to Circular Design
6.00 pm – 7.00 pm
Chaired by Roddy Clarke with OnOffice magazine, this event will examine the overarching aspects of circular design and its importance in our daily life and work.
Our panellists will explore the journey behind the innovative products being developed to support a more circular future. We will examine some of the pieces being launched by our partners at CDW; the innovative production materials, the importance of modularity and what the future holds for commercial furniture design.
Followed by post-talk drinks until 8.00 pm.
Wednesday 22nd May
Lunchtime CPD Talk: Circularity in Design by Swatchbox
1.00 pm – 2.00 pm
Sample pioneers Swatchbox will delve into the global issue of sample waste and what they’re doing to support a more circular and sustainable sample experience for the built environment community.
Panel Talk: How are you washing your Greens?
6.00 pm – 7.00 pm
Chaired by Mick Jordan, editor of Works magazine with invited guests.
A healthy discussion where we navigate the complex landscape of environmental and sustainability accreditations.
The many environmental and sustainability accreditations available within the industry is extensive. Our panellists will explore what these accreditations mean, what they are designed to achieve and how they’re being employed – marketing or for the environment?
What can we do to achieve sustainable solutions for smaller projects and budgets.
Afterwards, stay behind for post-talk drinks until 8.00 pm, take the opportunity to mingle with other guests.
Thursday 23rd May
Talk: Sustainability in Seating Q & A – Jade IIke, Jay & Co. and Jamie Russell, Umbrella
3.00 pm – 4.00 pm
A discussion exploring insights from Jay & Co’s experience in providing exciting circular design solutions, the challenges they face and how they achieve a more sustainable outcome through furniture restoration and reupholstery.
